SDGs
Since our founding, we have contributed to the construction of a society resilient to weather fluctuations and to high-quality infrastructure facilities for power, telecommunications, transportation, etc. through the development and diffusion of lightning protection technologies.

OTOWA ELECTRIC CO., LTD., under the theme of “live in harmony with lightning,” is engaged in activities that support people’s lives with peace of mind and aims to achieve the SDGs as a member of the global community.

We will continue to contribute to the creation of a safe and secure society and work to build a sustainable social structure.

①Innovations in the technology of lightning protection

・Providing lightning protection for solar power generation systems, wind power generation systems, and other clean energy sources, contributing to a stable supply of electricity.

・By innovating lightning protection and surge protection technologies, we contribute to the realization of a resilient infrastructure society against lightning damage.

・OTOWA provides lightning protection for public buildings and other cultural heritage structures. We are reducing economic losses caused by lightning and contributing to the creation of a lightning-resistant community.

・OTOWA will enhance lightning protection technology against lightning damage, a natural disaster.

②Technical assistance of Lightning protection for Rwanda, Africa

Rwanda, Africa is one of the most lightning-prone regions in the world, and its society and people have suffered tremendous lightning damage.

・We have implemented lightning countermeasures and are contributing to the creation of a lightning-resistant infrastructure.

・We are working to reduce lightning damage by implementing lightning protection measures, reducing economic losses, safety houses to protect people from lightning damage, and lightning radar.

・We are working to pass on lightning protection knowledge and techniques to engineers in Rwanda, Africa, so that lightning protection products can be installed and maintained locally.

③Lightning Awareness Activities

・We are engaged in educational activities such as publishing lightning-related books, hosting tours at the Lightning Technology Center, and holding lightning protection technology seminars.
・We accept internship students from Japan and overseas, and conduct activities to pass on knowledge and techniques for lightning protection and to deepen their understanding of lightning protection.

④Environmentally Conscious Business Activities

・We are working to use renewable energy sources such as solar power generation.
・We develop energy efficiency improvement products and promote energy efficiency improvement activities in manufacturing.
